Robert Strauss, producer, musician, artist, engineer, all-round top bloke, has been a good friend of Jazz re:freshed for a number of years now and for a number of years we’ve been bothering him to bring some live freshness to the Mau Mau stage. It would seem that our botheration has not gone unheeded and our waiting is about to be rewarded with a show and a half from his latest project Personal Life.
Personal Life is a London based collective formed by Robert Strauss, featuring the classic vocals of Stuart Lisbie and various key players. The full band listing reads like a who’s who of London based musicians, who have been brought together for a soulful magical mystery musical quest. The resulting product is an ambitious feat, paradoxically feeling both familiar and brand new, with a soulfulness that seems to be overlooked by many in the music making realm. For those of you with a soulful rare groove sensibility, Personal Life certainly has your ears firmly in their sights.

In the Band’s words:
“We believe in a movement of real music, handmade to last the test of time. Reflecting the sounds and values of people and society during an incredibly inspiring, honest and spiritually elevated period in popular music history”.
