Okay okay, we realise that this post is three days late, however we had a few technical difficulties, I’m sure you understand.
This is the first in a new feature we hope to post every Friday called ‘Last night at Jazz re:freshed’, which is pretty self-explanatory. Basically, we are going to collate a few highlights or an extended clip from the Jazz re:freshed performance that week and post it the next day (Friday) to give you a taste of you what you missed IF you weren’t there… of course if you were, it’s a chance to relive a moment or two.
The quality of the clip may not be as high as our ‘Jazz re:freshed presents’ series, however we are just trying to give you a flavour of the vibes and virtuosity we witness every week on the Mau Mau stage at Jazz re:freshed.
Last night (well, last Thursday), we had the pleasure of witnessing a vocal masterclass in the form of SOMI. All in attendance were left in no doubt about why SOMI’s star has been rising and she is destined for big things. The purity of her vocals and her poise whilst performing were mesmerising, you could visibly see the emotion she evoked on the faces of the individuals in the audience.
Here’s a clip of one of her tunes featuring SOMI doing her thing and a guitar solo from Herve Sambe. We hope this taste does SOMI and her band justice.
Enjoy.
