This Thursday October 31st, we are blessed to host “A South Asian Suite“, featuring Arun Ghosh and his Indo-Jazz sextet.
In addition, we have drafted in, all the way from the city of Los Angeles, DJ Nattu Daoud, to occupy the DJ spot for the night.
Nattu was born in Harlem in one of the most revolutionary decades in the history of American music, and became an avid record collector at an early age. With a trumpetto grandfather, a guitar‐stringing mother, and older cousins and brothers that exposed his young soul to hip hop, Nattu’s curiosities naturally lead him to the turntables.
He began recording and producing hip hop tracks in college with renowned recording engineer Troy Gonzalez (Sony Studios, Santa Monica/TK Studios, Hawai’i) and soon graduated to mixing and spinning, with an extensive knowledge of extensive knowledge of hip hop, Latin jazz, jazz‐funk, boogaloo, reggae, boogie, soul, break beat, rare grooves, R&B, and fusion.
