This happens to be a big week for Jazz re:freshed. Firstly, on Monday we are releasing the Tommaso Cappellato & Astral Travel debut album “COSM’ETHIC” in digital format, ahead of the full CD live release on August 15th 2013 (check the blog to follow).
AND…
We are piloting a Jazz re:freshed monthly residency in São Paulo, Brazil! Hoorah!!!
Working closely with Musician/Promoter Dilson Laguna (our facilitator and man on the ground), this coming Tuesday July 23rd, Jazz re:freshed will have its first edition in Brazil and although we cannot make it to this one ourselves, we are extremely excited.
This first Brazilian edition will host the young trumpeter SID VIEIRA, who will be launching his debut album “LIVRE”. His first album mixes the sound of Brazilian rhythm with the language of world music and contemporary jazz.
The band is formed by:
Sidmar Vieira – trumpete
Sidiel Vieira – double bass
Felipe Silveira – piano
Sergio Machado – drums
João Paulo JP – sax tenor

No próximo dia 23 de Julho (terça) vai rolar o lançamento no Brasil do projeto britânico JAZZ RE:FRESHED, um movimento musical criado pelos
DJ’s e produtores ingleses Justin ‘TopRock’ Mackenzie e Adam ‘Rock’ Moses.
O projeto teve início em 2003 em Londres, realizando eventos semanais e servindo como plataforma para novos artistas e músicos que fazem uma leitura contemporânea e moderna do Jazz – do jazz fusion ao brokenbeated jazz, be bop ao hip hop, avante garde ao Latin jazz, Afro jazz ao jazz funk, jazz rock ao nu soul, privilegiando qualquer mistura que use o consagrado gênero como referência.
Para o lançamento, vair ter performance ao vivo do músico e compositor SIDMAR VIEIRA, lançando seu primeiro trabalho, “LIVRE”.
O show mostra as composições de sua autoria que usam a sonoridade de ritmos brasileiros com linguagem do jazz contemporâneo.
