For this year’s JAZZ RE:FEST, we have enlisted a member of the crew to keep the night moving. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you, the host with most, Motet.
Motet has been hailed as one of the rising stars of the West London music scene.
Affiliated and associated with every collective born out of this sound, most notably Uprock Recordings, Bugz In The Attic, 2000Black, Co-Op and Jazz Re:Freshed to name a few, Motet is an accomplished and innovative Emcee & DJ, known for bringing his own brand of cutting edge music, using electronic soul to connect the dots between the spectrum of genres he ventures through on the dance floor.
Having had several worldwide musical releases as well as recording with the likes of Mark de Clive-Lowe, Bembe Segue, TY, 2000Black, as well as collaborating with influential tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson and Benji B, and throwing legendary parties with the likes of Ali Shaheed-Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest), De La Soul and 9th Wonder, big things are expected of Motet with his highly anticipated debut EP due for release early in the new year.
Recent years have seen Motet catch the eye and ears of the high end fashion world and has provided the musical backdrop for events for the Instituto Marangoni (Moschino, Dolce), and become a regular at Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out in London and Dusseldorf for Nicole Farhi and Michael Kors.
Spinning a style he calls “Electric-Eclectic”, expect to be shaken and stirred to the sounds of Broken beat, 21st Century Dance, House, Hip hop, Funk, Boogie, 80’s Soul and everything in between.
