Jazz re:freshed brings you the 13th Edition of our family friendly festival JAZZ RE:FEST for a spectacular day filled with live music and DJ’s held at iconic London venue KOKO. We warmly welcome children from the age of 8+ upwards when accompanied by an adult as the venue is not equipped for smaller children (no changing facilities and low railings in places).
Our festival gives a big stage spotlight to up-and-coming underexposed bands representing the broad expression within live Jazz. These artists will share this unique platform alongside our more established friends. In the past we have featured many emerging talents before their prolific rise including Sons of Kemet, Nubya Garcia, Yussef Dayes and Steam Down to name a few… Come down to JAZZ RE:FEST so you can say you saw the next ones to breakthrough here first!

This year’s festival marks a significant new chapter for us as we move from a long-established home on London’s Southbank to KOKO, one of the capital’s most celebrated and historic live music venues. Our festival is built on giving artists the stage they deserve, this move represents more than simply a change of address. It is an opportunity to bring the RE:FEST ethos into a new environment, while continuing its long-standing mission: to put exceptional musicians in front of audiences who may not yet know their names and giving those audiences the chance to discover their next favourite artist. KOKO’s rich history as a home for boundary-pushing live music makes it a fitting setting for this next chapter. The venue has played host to generations of influential artists and remains one of London’s most distinctive spaces for live performance. For RE:FEST, its latest incarnation offers an exciting new backdrop for the festival’s commitment to musical discovery.
“JAZZ RE:FEST began 13 years ago with a simple belief: that great artists deserved a platform, and that audiences deserved the opportunity to discover them. That spirit has remained at the heart of the festival ever since from making the festival free to removing barriers between audiences and exceptional music, and championing artists long before they became household names. While the venue and format may evolve, our purpose remains constant. This year, that celebration moves to the iconic KOKO in Camden. It’s been a challenging journey to get here, but we felt strongly that JAZZ RE:EST should continue because its spirit has never been about a particular place, but about people, discovery and great music. We’re delighted to be bringing that spirit to KOKO and inviting audiences to discover their next favourite artist.”
- Justin McKenzie, Creative Director & Co-Chief Executive
