We are excited to team up with The Jazz Café once again to present three acts who will be taking the scene by storm in 2020.
ife_ogunjobi is the golden boy of UK improvised music. Growing up in South East London, his surroundings have enriched his music with various genres such as Jazz, Afrobeat and Hip-hop. Establishing his name as an artist has been made all the more successful following his experiences playing alongside the likes of Solange Knowles, Jon Cleary and UK-based acts such as Dele Sosimi and Moses Boyd.
Golden Mean is the brand new band formed by Tom Driessler of Yussef Kamaal and Luke Wynter of Nubiyan Twist. Expect trippy beats, synths, catchy hooks, solos, and uptempo grooves.
Burnheart is an experimental electronic modal jazz band led by violinist Johanna Burnheart. Originally from Berlin, Johanna draws inspiration from early modal jazz pioneers such as Eberhard Weber and Zbigniew Seifert as well as the current German techno scene.
Burnheart is a product of the current London jazz scene and the band is soon releasing their debut album.
