DA LATA, DIVAGEEK, PERSONAL LIFE AND TURTL
The London-based Brazilian fusion group Da Lata established themselves long before it became fashionable for a dance act to quote South American forms.
Da Lata (meaning “from the tin” in Portuguese) are a British group formed in 1994 by Chris Franck and Patrick Forge, they combine Afro-Brazilian influences with other strands from the melting pot of their native London. Franck and Forge previously worked together with the Brighton based group Batu before setting up Da Lata as a more studio based project. Franck is the main creative force as songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, whereas Forge better known as a DJ and broadcaster is credited as co-producer. They made three albums for Palm Pictures Songs From The Tin(2000) and Serious (2003) and a collection of their remix work for other artists.

Da Lata’s performance is in anticipation of their first album release in over 10 years – Fabiola – released on 14th October via Agogo Records.
They have started the build-up for the release of ‘Fabiola’ by giving away the “Allstars live version” of Ronco Da Cuica as a free download via their website here
Both Vula & Ben have been active in the music industry for some years now working with a selection of different artists & bands across the genres. With common interests in what they liked & a shared respect for each others talent, Vula & Ben started working together from when they met in 2005. With what they were creating, it was obvious something more official had to be done… Thus the birth of DivaGeek.

Conceived sometime in 2010, ‘Personal Life’ is a London based jazzy-soul collective formed by Producer Robert Strauss, featuring the classic sounding voice of Stuart Lisbie plus (core members of Amy Winehouse’s touring band) Xantoné Blacq and Nathan Allen.
The vision for this project is to bring back into popular consciousness the sound, production, songwriting & musicality dating back to the glory days of the music industry, when commercial pop also meant culturally significant, sophisticated and catchy music made with integrity for people of all ages to enjoy.
